MANCHESTER EVENING NEWS COMPETITION
MINUTES OF AGM 21st OCTOBER 2004
1 The MEN confirmed their Sponsorship for 2005
2 The Northern League have withdrawn from the Competition citing their reasons as a reluctance by Players to make themselves available and the demands of their own Fixture list
3 The Manchester Association have been accepted into the Competition
4 Peter Stafford was re-elected Chairman & Bob Hinchliffe Secretary
5 It was agreed that in 2005 both the Seniors & Colts Competition be played as a 45 overs per innings per match , with a maximum of 9 overs per bowler ( reduction from 48 overs )
6 Leagues are required to nominate 4 Umpires , who must have adequate Insurance and CRB Clearance
7 It was agreed that the Colts Competition would continue to be played as a Round Robin format as in 2004 . However a new date for the Final would be sought , as September 18th was too late . It was agreed that no date would be set at this time but further consideration would be given to it at our next meeting when all the Leagues fixtures were available . It was possible that we could wait and see which 2 Leagues reached the Final and then select a date suitable to those 2 Leagues .
