BOLTON CRICKET LEAGUE

MINUTES OF THE GENERAL COMMITTEE MEETING

HELD AT BRADSHAW C.C.

12th DECEMBER 2005

Apologies: None. All clubs and representatives attended.

Graham Waterworth and Brian Fairclough are in hospital, both in F3 Ward.

Minutes of the November Meeting: These had been circulated. Heaton were removed from the clubs who had not submitted their averages and the minutes were approved.

Matters Arising: It was agreed to leave further discussion of the implementation of the self-certification of all senior players until the January meeting.

Kearsley have still not submitted their averages.

Correspondence: An equipment brochure from Ram International was circulated.

There is a winter coaching course for Under 6 to Under 9s at Thornleigh Sports Centre from 16th January.

The Umpires’ Course at Astley Bridge commences on Tuesday 10th January.

Fixtures: In response to a question from Walkden C.C. the Secretary replied that with all the other factors that had to be taken into consideration it was no longer feasible to ensure Sunday fixtures were divided equally between clubs. The Committee approved the fixtures.

The first match of the season will commence on Sunday 23rd April. This is shown on the fixture list, but a small number of sheets headed “Sunday Fixtures 2006” may have shown this as a free date.

Any Other Business: Ron Fallows will be away for four weeks in the New Year. Transfer or registration forms should be sent to Tony Hayes or a member of the Registration Committee.

May Barlow was congratulated on obtaining a grant of £2650 from Awards For All for Junior Coaching.

John Hutchinson expressed concern about the nominations for Co-Opted members. The Secretary explained that nominations were accepted up to the end of November, circulated to members of the Committee and voted on at the A.G.M. The Co-Opted members were then elected to the Sub-Committees at the January meeting.

Date of Next Meeting: 30th January.
