ANTHONY AXFORD BOLTON CRICKET LEAGUE

MINUTES OF THE GENERAL COMMITTEE MEETING

HELD AT BRADSHAW C.C.

11th DECEMBER 2006

Minute’s Silence – a minute’s silence was held in respect of Michael Ashworth (Farnworth S.C.), Margaret Harwood (Egerton C.C.) and Alan Noakes (Farnworth C.C.).

Apologies: None. All clubs and officials attended with the exception of Astley Bridge.

Minutes of the November Meeting: These had been distributed and were approved as a correct record.

Matters Arising: The Committee ratified a recommendation by the R&C Committee that if the Lancashire Indoor Finals are played before our indoor KO, the previous year’s winner will enter on our behalf. Should there be another place available, this will be taken up with last year’s losing finalist. On 7th January 2007, the Bolton League will be represented by Kearsley (last year’s Lancs winners) and Bradshaw (last year’s Bolton League runners-up to Kearsley).

At the next LCB meeting Peter Stafford will suggest finding an alternative venue for the Lancs final.

The majority of cricket ball orders have been received.

Peter Stafford still requires Kearsley’s averages for the Handbook.

Correspondence: Clubs were handed literature from League Cricket Conference, and Brian Woodhead, LCB Welfare Officer. There is an open Forum for Club Welfare Officers 7.30pm 11th January. There is a need for clubs to appoint a trained Deputy Welfare Officer.

Correspondence regarding cricket balls and insurance were passed to Rod Sandiford and the Treasurer respectively.

There is a Sport, Health, Inclusion Volunteer Event at Pack Horse Hotel 3-730pm 18th December. Clubs in the Bolton area have received notification from Bolton Council.

Date of Next Meeting: 29th January 2007.
