ANTHONY AXFORD BOLTON CRICKET LEAGUE

MINUTES OF THE 76th ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

10th DECEMBER 2007

A Minute’s silence was held in memory of all those who had died during the previous year.

Minutes of the 75th AGM: These had been circulated and approved previously. There were no matters arising.

Chairman’s Report: Derek Kay congratulated all the trophy winners, and thanked the League Officials, Junior Officials and Umpires. He gave special thanks to May Barlow who has decided to stand down as Little Lever’s Representative. Reference was again made to Mike Hall’s letter of resignation, and the reasons he no longer wishes to be a member of the Committee. It had been anticipated that Mr Hall would take over as Chairman. Mr Kay made reference to his ill health earlier in the year, but now he has been re-elected is looking to take the League forward.

President’s Report: Peter Stafford added his congratulations to the trophy winners and thanks to the Officials paying special tribute to Mike Hall. He also asked clubs to let him have their averages as soon as possible.

Statement of Accounts: Bill Stevenson took the Committee through the accounts. There were no questions, and the accounts were approved unanimously.

Proposed Amendments to Rule: The Committee were informed which proposals had received a two-thirds majority (Emailed). There was an anomaly with the voting on the Birtwistle Cup rules, with players having to have played one league match to play in the semi-final, but not the final.

Junior Amendments to Rule: The Committee ratified these.

Election of Co-Opted Members: The two nominees, Tony Hayes and David Morris received at least 75% of the available votes. The Chairman and Secretary explained that the Sub-Committees could function without a co-opted member as Chair.

The Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer and Auditor were re-elected unopposed.
