MINUTES OF THE 79th ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

 

13th DECEMBER 2010

 

 

A minute’s silence was held in memory of all who had passed on during the previous year.

 

Minutes of the 78th AGM: These had been circulated and approved previously. There were no matters arising.

 

Chairman’s Report: Attached / enclosed.

 

Junior Report: Mr Buckley said all the Lancashire junior competitions had been won by Bolton League clubs.

There had been three successful proposed amendments to the junior rules, the formation of an Executive, and changes to Under 18 and Under 15 cricket.

All junior officials and representatives were thanked for the part they had played in running junior cricket.

 

Statement of Accounts: the Treasurer distributed these. Mr Hutchinson asked several questions relating to the accounts, which were answered by Mr Monks. Mr Hutchinson then congratulated the Treasurer on the clarity of the accounts. The Committee approved the accounts and it was requested that thanks to Greg Salt the Auditor also be minuted.

 

Amendments to Rules: The following received a two-thirds majority;

 

Rule 23(z) Amend the Leg Side wide rule to read, “In adult cricket a
leg side wide should be called and signalled if a ball passes outside
leg stump and behind the batsman.”

Rule 23(c) and (h) replace both with “Where two or more teams have
the same number of points league placing shall be determined as
follows; 1. The team with most wins, 2. The team with least defeats, 3.
The points won in the matches involving the clubs, 4. Net aggregate
run rate."

Rule 13(c) Replace “Ex-patriots” with “British citizens”. NOTE: NORMALLY A BRITISH CITIZEN WITH HAVE THE INFORMATION ON HIS PASSPORT.

Rule 26(d) Delete ”From 30 minutes before the scheduled or
rescheduled start of the match, if the captains disagree on the fitness
of the ground, then the League appointed umpire(s) will make the
decision as to whether play is possible. The pitch may be inspected
before the final decision is made by the umpires alone."
NOTE: UMPIRES ARE NOW IN SOLE CHARGE OF FITNESS TO PLAY.

 

Junior Amendments: The Committee ratified these.

Election of Officers: There was only one nomination each for the posts of Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Junior Representative and Auditor so there was no change.

John Hutchinson, Karen Knott and Graham Waterworth all received at least three quarters of the votes and will continue as Co-opted Members.
