MINUTES OF THE GENERAL COMMITTEE MEETING

 

HELD AT BRADSHAW C.C.

 

28th FEBRUARY 2011

 

 

Apologies Karen Knott and Roy Sturch. Heaton were not represented.

 

Minutes of the January Meeting These had been circulated previously and were agreed to be a true record of proceedings.

 

Matter Arising A League Dinner and Presentation sub-committee was appointed comprising; Mike Hall, Ian McLellan and David Morris. Mr McLellan has already submitted some ideas to the Chairman.

 

Correspondence Information relating to Child Welfare, ECB Discipline and Behaviour, Welfare and First Aid Courses, and the League Cricket Conference had been emailed to clubs.

 

Child Welfare Mike Buckley has distributed Welfare spreadsheets to clubs and these must be returned by 31st March.

There are a limited number of places available for the Safeguarding and Protecting Children and First Aid Courses at Bradshaw C.C. on 22nd March and 5th April respectively.

 

Finance There is £3180 in the current account, £1809 in the savings account, £3099 in the junior coaching account (excluding monies owed by clubs invoiced in December), £919 in the legal fund.

Astley Bridge owe £319 (junior and senior presentations and junior coaching), Greenmount £25 (non attendance at meeting) and Horwich £44 (fines).

Clubs must have paid for their cricket balls by 15th March. Egerton, Greenmount, Farnworth S.C., Kearsley and Westhoughton have already paid.

Junior balls will be invoiced in the near future.

Proof of public liability insurance is required at the March meeting.

 

Umpires Clubs were reminded about the Scorebook Entry course on 15th March and ACO level 1 course from 22nd March, both at Astley Bridge C.C.  

 

Juniors There have been some changes to the original fixtures.

The next meeting is 14th April.

 

Professionals and Transfers Astley Bridge have signed Himesh Silva and Eagley Michael Ratneyake Both are first class and therefore grade 2.

Danny Reeve has transferred from Heaton to Westhoughton.

A full list of clubs’ registered players is required at the April meeting.

 

Handbook Updates to club officials and junior team managers must be received by 14th March; otherwise it will be assumed there is no change.

Egerton and Little Lever should supply their résumé’s by the same date at the latest.

Player and club records will be updated to include 2010 figures. Clubs should contact the Secretary if they feel figures before the 2010 season have not been included. 

 

Farnworth C.C. Juniors The Chairman and Secretary exceptionally had agreed that in order to assist Farnworth plans to rebuild their junior section, a waiver of rule could proposed at a general committee meeting.

Farnworth were asked to write to the Secretary outlining the progress that had been made and this was forwarded to clubs. In addition the Secretary read a letter from Zahid Patel from the Community and Sports Development team at Sport Health and Inclusion (Bolton).

The Committee agreed unanimously to a proposal that the final paragraph of Standing Order 6 be waived to allow the penalty placed on Farnworth C.C. at the appeal on 25th May 2010 to be transferred from the Under 13 team to the Under 11 for 2011 and deferred on the Under 13 team until the 2012 season (and reviewed at the May 2012 League Meeting). The penalty relating to the Under 15 team will remain and if the Under 18 team fail to fulfil any fixtures the R&C Committee under the normal procedures will deal this with.

Should the Under 11 and Under 15 have fulfilled all their fixtures by the May League Meeting, the Committee have the discretion to remove the automatic points deduction from the club’s first team and again any defaults will be handled by the R&C Committee.

Mr Morris said other clubs had missed junior matches last season. The Secretary will take this up with the Junior Secretary to ensure there is a procedure in place to ensure cases are reported to the R&C Committee.

 

Lyddon Trophy Finals day held over from 2010 will be subject to Bolton Wanderers progress in the F.A. Cup.

The draw for the 2011 competition will be made at Little Lever C.C. on 7th March.
