BOLTON CRICKET LEAGUE

MINUTES OF THE GENERAL COMMITTEE MEETING

TONGE C.C.

10th DECEMBER 2012

Minutes’ Silence: The Committee stood in memory of Jack Taylor (Heaton C.C.), Eric Barlow (Little Lever C.C. and umpire) and Steve Simpson (Bradshaw).

Apologies: All clubs and officials attended.

November Meeting: The minutes had been distributed and were approved as a correct record.

Matters Arising: The Secretary felt that there had possibly not been sufficient progress to implement Play-Cricket fully in 2013, but suggested that with the approval of Ron Fallows it could be used for registrations next season. This would be put on the agenda for the January meeting.

Greenmount and Bradshaw have both expressed an interest in staging the match on Tuesday 9th June against Hyderabad under 25’s. A decision on the venue will be made at the January meeting.

Clubs agreed to accept the Reader cricket ball with the offer of sponsorship on a three year deal. The Chairman thanked the Treasurer. Clubs need to order their balls at or before the January meeting.

Disciplinary Issues: Mr Hutchinson outlined how the Disciplinary Committee had handled two outstanding issues relating to Heaton C.C.

Correspondence: The Secretary has emailed the latest League Cricket Conference Legal Update.

Bolton School is not available for the first two Sundays of the Axford Indoor KO and the Secretary will send out the revised dates.

There is a Scorers Course on 19th March.

League Handbook: The Committee agreed in principle that clubs should not be obliged to take as many copies as in previous years. The Treasurer will discuss various prices with the printers and the Secretary will look at ways of cutting the content. The Secretary said that in this and future years, if the amendments to rules had not been resolved by the December AGM, he would not have sufficient time to produce a Handbook in anything like its present form.

Date of Next Meeting: Monday 28th January.
