MANAGEMENT MEETING MINUTES

24th March 2014 at Tonge C.C.

ANTHONY AXFORD BOLTON CRICKET LEAGUE

Apology – Chris Monks. David Morris attended in order to present a Ground Committee document.

Minutes of the January Meeting – These had been circulated and were agreed to be a true and correct record.

Matters Arising – To date only Bradshaw and Greenmount have submitted complete registration details. Partial returns have been received from Eagley, Egerton, Heaton, Horwich, Kearsley and Little Lever. MH will contact the defaulting clubs. Clubs have until 1st April to submit the names and addresses of senior players and names, addresses and dates of birth of junior players. Full details are required by 14th April for all players currently registered. Clubs whose records are not up to date are encouraged to contact Ron Fallows.

The Management Committee agreed the following would apply if a club made a request for a waiver of rule; “Requests for a waiver of rule from a club will be dealt with at the next scheduled General Committee or Management Committee Meeting. If it is a General Committee meeting a ballot will be taken of clubs and the waiver allowed if there is no opposition. If it is a Management Committee Meeting it must be with the unanimous consent of those members present and entitled to vote. The outcome will be emailed to clubs who have 36 hours from the sending of the email to raise an objection. The R&C Committee can still consider a waiver of a senior fixture at the request of the ECB or LCB but only when both Bolton League clubs have agreed to alternative arrangements.”

Grounds and facilities will be covered in a document MH is working on as part of the Management Development plan. This will reflect the varying views of Management Committee members who were split into small groups to discuss topics introduced by MH.

Ian McClelland is unable to take over the role of Inter League team manager due to work commitments.

MH reported on the LCB meetings with Greater Manchester leagues. There were no further updates on the reorganisation of the Central Lancashire Leagues and Lancashire County League, or the impact on the Bolton Association and Saddleworth Leagues.

The R&C Committee have told Little Lever what is required of them in 2014 in relation to their junior teams. Little Lever did not appeal the decision. BE reported that progress is being made at the Club.

Correspondence – The Secretary has forwarded to clubs the latest League Cricket Conference Legal Update and an email from Mark Leather Physiotherapy.

Martin Hodgkiss and Chris Monks have secured sponsorship of the Hamer Cup with Thwaites Brewery. There will be prize money for the winner and losing finalist and two free barrels of beer for each club.

The letter read a letter from Kearsley C.C. regarding professionals playing in the ECB 20/20 but the Management Committee decided only players who are eligible for the later stages of the competition could play in the earlier rounds.

Umpires – The Umpires / Captains meeting will take place at Farnworth S.C. at 7.30pm on Thursday 27th March.
