Apologies: Chris Monks and Eric Smith. Roy Sturch represented the umpires.

Minutes of the April Meeting: These had been circulated and were agreed to be a correct record.

Matters Arising: It was agreed that should there be no further nominations, Derek Kay and Mike Hall would share the responsibilities of inter-league team manager.

Registrations and transfers will be able to be made electronically within a week. To date there have not been any formal protests about unregistered players, however clubs should ensure all their players are registered before weekend. Clubs must note that playing unregistered players in second team cricket could impact on first team points.

League officials are continuing to attend meetings to discuss the future of league cricket in Greater Manchester.

Correspondence: The Chairman had received a letter from Frank Hinks concerning events at the last league meeting and other issues, to which he will respond.

The Secretary has circulated information about Child Welfare Officer ‘Mop-Up’ courses and the benefits of ECB/LCB affiliation.

Finance: The Secretary will check with the Treasurer to see if all direct debits have been set up and all clubs have submitted evidence of public liability insurance.

Umpires: Captains must ensure their player communicate with the opposition in English on the field of play. Failure to do so when requested by the umpires could result in disciplinary action.

There is a serious shortage of umpires, and the home side in second team matches must be prepared to provide an umpire, if necessary to stand at square leg.

Clubs are asked to provide separate teas for umpires and scorers, who often arrive several minutes after the players.

Clubs have been fined for failing to submit umpires marks.

Grounds: DK said around half a dozen reports have been received but no action has been needed to be taken so far.

R&C Reports: Warning letters have been sent to the following clubs for failure to field junior teams; Under 9 – Farnworth, Horwich and Westhoughton, Under 18 – Eagley. Farnworth had no scorer in an Under 13 match.
