ANTHONY AXFORD BOLTON CRICKET LEAGUE

MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETING AT TONGE C.C.

MONDAY 23rd FEBRUARY 2015

Apology: Mike Hall. Mike Buckley missed the early part of the meeting. David Morris attended on behalf of the Ground Committee.

Roy Marland: The Committee noted the death of the former Bolton League player.

Grounds and Facilities: Mike Hall and David Morris will be writing to all clubs stating that boundary ropes will be required at all grounds in 2015, including where the ropes can be purchased at a discount. Clubs will also be contacted where it is felt their sightscreens are not large enough. Clubs are asked to ensure that their boundaries are not more than 90 yards from the nearer middle stump.

Minutes of the Management Committee 2nd February: These had been circulated and were agreed to be a correct record.

Matters Arising: John Hutchinson reported the weekend’s coaching at Lilleshall had been a success and the Acting Chairman Bill Elkin asked that the League’s thanks to John for organising the event be recorded. Coaches Richard and Matt Dearden and Andrew Fletcher were also thanked. Due to events outside the control of the organisers the weekend was £300 over budget at £5000, so the cost to the Bolton League will be £1000 not £700, with the players contributing £2850 towards the costs. Hallows Produce are to be thanked for their sponsorship.

Cricket Balls: Clubs should collect these at the umpires’ meeting on Monday 13th April at Tonge C.C. Junior balls are to be ordered from Cricket World and the Secretary will email clubs asking them to re-order.

Natwest t20: Eagley and Egerton have been given dispensation by the LCB to enter a combined team.

Umpires: There will be a training session at Tonge C.C. 7.30pm on Monday 9th March. Clubs are encouraged to send junior team managers. Clubs must send at least one senior player or team manager to the umpires’ meeting on 13th April.

Correspondence: Details of Child Welfare Courses have been emailed to clubs. At present four Bolton League clubs do not have a qualified Child Welfare Officer.

Indoor K.O. Egerton take part in the regional finals at Derby on Sunday 1st March.

Walkden will not be entering a team in 2016.

Registrations: The R&C Committee have accepted the registration of an overseas player at Greenmount, as the club have a UK professional based on the Bolton League rules.

The following players have been transferred; J O’ Byrne (Eagley to Bradshaw), M Jameel (Bradshaw to Kearsley), R Mahmood (Little Lever to Horwich).

Handbook: Clubs should let Mike Buckley michael.buckley@hare.com have any changes to club officials and junior team managers by the end of February.

i-team mate: Mike Buckley will be visiting clubs to explain how the system operates.
