ANTHONY AXFORD BOLTON CRICKET LEAGUE

MINUTES OF THE MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETING

TONGE C.C.

1st JULY 2015

Apologies: Eric Smith, with Stuart Wiseman as his deputy. Other members of the Management Committee present were; Karen Knott (Management Chair), John Hutchinson (Acting Chair of the League Committee), Tracey Brooks, Mike Buckley, Ray Taylor and Warwick Milne. Martin Hodgkiss was co-opted as a voting member of the Management Committee. It was agreed the remaining vacancies will be filled by people from the Bolton Association. Frank Hinks attended in his position as President.

Minutes of Previous Meetings: The minutes from the Management Committee meeting on 27th April, the SGM minutes from 8th June with additional notes from the ratification meeting at Kearsley on 15th June, were accepted. There were no matters arising.

Correspondence: A request from the Axford family that the final Axford Cup match between the Association and League be staged at Farnworth had been turned down by the Bolton Association on behalf of Darcy Lever C.C. who are due to stage the match.

The Management Committee had previously given dispensation to Flixton to play an overseas player in addition to their professional in 2016 as an agreement had already been made with the player on the assumption the club were joining the Greater Manchester Cricket League.

It was agreed that clubs making representation to the Management Committee before the 2016 season could play without a professional as defined in Rule 17. It was also agreed that the standards for UK based professionals should be reviewed as it would be expected that a club in a higher division would engage someone of a higher standard.

Steve Dickinson: The Bradshaw Chairman at the invitation of the Committee made a number of points about the status of the new clubs, Bolton League Rules, junior cricket and senior third teams and the adoption of fixed disciplinary tariffs. All would form the basis for future Management meetings.

Votes: The Secretary is seeking advice from Chris Weston of the Liverpool Competition on from which point new clubs are permitted a vote.

Constitution: The Secretary will be reviewing the League Constitution and Tracey Brooks and Mike Buckley the Junior Constitution.

League Structure 2016: The majority of Bolton Association Clubs and two Bolton League clubs had expressed a preference for starting 2016 in a second division. The Secretary would draft two proposals to put to the Bolton League clubs at a meeting on 9th July.

Bolton Cosmopolitan League: Their Chairman and Treasurer will be invited to a future meeting to discuss the benefits of co-operation between the two leagues. Depending on how recreational cricket is to be structured in the Greater Manchester Cricket League, the option of playing open age or open /restricted age third team cricket on a Sunday will be considered.

Junior Cricket: Dispensation will be given to clubs wishing to continue playing some or all junior cricket in other leagues.

The Name of the League: Clubs will have the opportunity to discuss this on 9th July.

Finance: At the meeting on 9th July consideration will be given to imposing further penalties on clubs who have not sent the League details of their public liability insurance and who are seriously in arrears with their payments to the League.

Date of Next Meetings: 8pm at Bradshaw C.C. on 9th July with a restricted agenda, Monday 3rd August at Tonge C.C. at 7.45pm.
