MINUTES OF THE GENERAL COMMITTEE MEETING

HELD AT TONGE C.C. 1st FEBRUARY 2016

Apologies: Golborne, Little Lever and Standish. Eagley were not represented.

The Chairman welcomed Disciplinary Chair Simon Rees to the meeting.

T20: Amendments were made to the draft rules. These will be issued separately along with proposed bonus points. The proposed regions were approved and fixtures will be issued.
Juniors: Mike Buckley announced the junior structures. It was recommended that in age groups where there are comparatively fewer fixtures arrangements were made to ensure each team has at least two cup matches.
John Hutchison cautioned that clubs not playing Under 18 cricket may struggle for second team players in the future. Some clubs said they will be playing juniors in their third senior team.
Clubs should let John know if they have any further nominations for the pre-season Under 18 coaching weekend, by 15th April.
The possible impact of summer junior football was discussed. LCB Director Bobby Denning has been asked to take this up with the Lancashire FA at county level.
There will be a junior committee meeting on Thursday 25th February. Clubs will be asked to confirm their cricket ball orders, and approve the draft fixtures.

Lancs KO 2017: The eight highest placed teams from the major leagues will qualify from 2017.

Website: Mike Buckley said progress was being made.

Cricket in Lancashire: Ray Taylor reporting from the LCB Recreational Committee said there appeared to be an impasse between the Lancashire League and LCB.

Indoor KO: The Chairman thanked the competition organisers. Bolton School will be booked for 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th January 2017 for a maximum of 16 teams. Clubs wishing to withdraw from the competition should inform Karen Knott.

40 Over Competition: Amendments to the draft rules will be circulated separately. Brief trials with a Duckworth/Lewis App appeared to be a success. A standardised App and the settings will be agreed on. In the first instance scorers will be asked to make the calculations.

Registrations: The former Bolton Association clubs were asked to let Mike Buckley have their registrations as soon as possible.
