Report : After being 10 for 2, Heaton recovered to 110 for 2 with Fearick 55 and Carson 35. Then it all went wrong with the middle order attempting to put Andy Taylor onto the M61 motorway. This resulted in a disappointing 155 total on a good wicket. Heaton bowlers started well and had Horwich on the racks at 80 for 6 before Partington managed to get to 67*, after being dropped twice, in unauthordox fashion as he only knows. Dayle Jones bowled an excellent spell before getting a calf strain which forced him out of the attack. This arguably caused Heaton's demise.
