Report : A frustrating day was had by all and when play finally got under way at 4:30pm, the game had been reduced to 30 overs each. The Heaton Team got off to a good start and although lost the two openers early Jack Southworth & John Fearick steadied the innings. With wickets in hand the onslaught was led by Ian Bradshaw and John West, with the visitors posting a very respectible total. The Astley Bridge innings never got going and they did not even attempt to chase the target, being too worried about losing the game. Saying that, Clegg & Dalugoda batted well to ensure a draw in what ended up quite a boring fixture. |
