Report : On a day when the weather looked like it would affect the outcome of the game due to recent wet spells the toss was won by the Bolton League who decided to field first. This decision was questioned heavily after the Ribblesdale League started the onslaught due to some aggressive batting by Paul Stafford, they reached 60 for no wicket after 10 overs.  The Bolton League hit back strongly including the prize wicket of Peter Sleep, before Alan Armer took control and boosted the Ribblesdale League to 134 for 4 at the half-way mark.  On his departure the Bolton League took control and only the resistance of Bolton allowed them to reach their modest total.  What a let down after such a promising start.  In reply, the Bolton League started cautiously due to some accurate bowling from Stuart Hornby.  The opening batsmen, Andy Bowker and Gary Garner batted superbly with a century opening stand to lead the Bolton League to a superb victory.
