Birtwistle Cup final

Westhoughton won the match convincingly after having held the initiative yesterday after a fantastic display from Irfan Puda who was the only resistance from the Westhoughton batsman. Zafir Patel and Matt Gregory bowled with shear pace, well backed up by Simon Fletcher. An unfortunate dropped catch when Puda was on 30 saw the away team post a formidable target. Westhoughton struck early with the dismissal of Andy Hart, Ben Hubbard & captain Neil Hart. By the time the rain interrupted play, Ryan Tierney & Steve Dickinson had steadied the Bradshaw innings after a short cameo by Phil Johnson. Today the Westhoughton bowlers continued their good form and only Steve Dickinson managed to give the home team any Hope. Man of the Man went to Puda for his all-round display during the match.
