A Bolton League side, containing eight Bradshaw and Tonge players
following some selection problems defeated the Association by 89 runs. The
League suffered an early setback with the loss of Nisar, but recovered
steadily thanks to Alex Rodzoch and Phil Dickinson. The game changed when
Chris Barrow joined Dickinson and smashed 68 off 52 deliveries in a
partnership of 87.The late order batsmen kept the momentum going with some
hard hitting and quick running. The Association lost two early wickets, and
the run rate slowed to a crawl faced with some accurate bowling and good
ground fielding.
Aafreedi smashed Adam Street for four sixes in five balls, but was bowled
by the last ball of the over, as the Association slumped from 146 for 4 to
159 all out.
