Report: after losing the toss the Bolton League side bowling pretty well to keep the North Lancs team down to a moderate 213 for 4 on an unresponsive wicket. North Lancs should have scored more runs, but left it too late to accelerate at the end of the innings with plenty wickets in hand. On debut, Adam Street bowled impressively with the new ball and Phil Dickinson also should why he should be playing in this team by bowling a good spell. His figures were only tainted by a last over blast by the North Lancs batsman. The Bolton League started very slowly after losing Paul Stafford in the second over. Credit has to go to all the North Lancs bowlers, who kept a tight line and length and gave away nothing in the field. The demise of Andy Kerr, who batted very solidly, after a mix up with skipper Nigel Partington saw the beginning of the end for the Bolton League as the run rate steadily increased. A very poor lbw decision against John Kerrigan and some lack-luster batting from the middle other led to the downfall of this years MEN challenge. better Luck for next year Lads!
