JUNIOR SECTION MEETING MARCH 18TH 2004

Apologies for attendance : John Hutchinson ; Richard Dearden ; Greenmount CC Rep ; Farnworth SC Rep ; Treasurer

 Absent  : Walkden

Matters Arising  : The Minute Secretary apologised for some Club Reps not receiving their February minutes , these had been e-mailed to Senior Reps and should have been posted to all Junior Reps . Copies were distributed to all Reps on the night .

The Under 13's Knockout Cup Competition is on 3rd June 2004 and not 4th June , as is shown in the League Handbook .

Heaton CC received a Bye in the Under 18's Knockout Cup Competition , although this may not be shown in the League Handbook .

Clubs were reminded that for the 2004 Season it is the responsibility of HOME Clubs to telephone the result of their matches to the relevant Age Level Administrators immediately after the match , and the HOME Club must also ensure completion and posting of the Match Card .

It was noted that some Clubs may have more Home matches than Away matches this season . The Chairman regretted that it was simply impossible to achieve an even split across all Clubs .

Age Level Updates  : The Chairman pointed out that this topic would be a regular item on future Agendas commencing April 2004 . It would provide an opportunity for each Section Administrator to update Members concerning the progress/queries at each Age Level and for Clubs to raise any matters with the appropriate Administrator .

Inter League  : Geoff Diggle confirmed our entry in the Peak Sports Tournament and informed Clubs that he would be seeking the use of a Bolton League Ground  - Clubs were asked to "volunteer" at the next meeting . The Chairman informed Geoff that other matters on the day ( Teas and Cost ) would be set by the Senior Committee .

Discussions had been attempted with the Bolton Association concerning the Teddy Gerrard Trophy . It was agreed that the Minute Secretary would write to the Association .

Coaching  : It was understood that the Coaching Co-ordinator was progressing with his meetings with Coaches etc and an update would be provided at the next meeting .

Some discussion took place concerning the Aims and Objectives of the Coaching Scheme

Finance : The Chairman reported that most Clubs had now paid their Coaching Subscription and reminded others to do so .

Junior Rep : The Junior Section were entitled under the League Rules to appoint a Representative who could attend and vote at Senior Meetings on behalf of the Junior Section . 2 Nominations were received and after a vote  -  Geoff Diggle was appointed with Mike Buckley as his Deputy .

Child Protection : Clubs were asked to invite their Child Welfare Officer to our next Junior Meeting on 15th April , as the Leagues appointed Welfare Officers ( John Hutchinson & Ray Taylor ) wished to make a short presentation to all Clubs .

Please Note That Although The Above Is A Minute From Our March Meeting  -  Following Discussion At The Senior League Meeting On 29th March This Presentation Is Cancelled  -  And There Is Therefore No Need For Your Child Welfare Officer To Attend On 15th April

Any Other Business  : The issue of wearing Helmets was raised again and it was confirmed that we would be following the ECB Guidelines for 2004 .
