MINUTES
OF JUNIOR SECTION APRIL MEETING
Present
:
All Members were in attendance
The
Chairman congratulated Jack Ashton on his appointment to Vice President of the
League
Minutes
of the March meeting had been previously circulated and were accepted as a
correct record
Matters
Arising :-
The League President opened a discussion regarding publicity for the
Junior Section , in terms of Match Scores and League Tables . It was agreed that
for the 1st month the League President would be the liaison with the
Bolton Evening News .
The
League President also confirmed that the League Handbooks were now ready and
would be distributed to Clubs at the Senior League Meeting
Age
Level Updates : Under 15's Fixtures on July 19th would be
re-scheduled to August 16th
Under
15's Cup Final on 8th August clashes with the Birtwistle Cup Final
Inter
League matters :- The Under 11's fixture away to the Heavy Woollen League on
Monday 3rd May would require Coach Transport and all Clubs agreed to
pay a £10 levy towards the cost .
The
Under 13's play the same League on the same day at Bradshaw CC
Grounds
were still required for the MEN Inter League Colts Competition on June 13th
and July 11th

Clubs were asked to contact the Secretary if they wished to offer their
ground
The
Chairman reported that the Inter League Expenses payable to each Club hosting an
Inter League fixture would be as follows :- Umpires £15 each ; Scorer £10 ;
Teas £72 .
It
was reported that the Teddy Gerrard Trophy had been lost . John Hutchinson
kindly offered his Company to pay for a replacement Trophy , provided the
previous Winners were "named" on the Trophy . This offer was accepted
and the Chairman agreed to contact Eric Smith regarding the selection of a new
Trophy . The match would be played on Sunday 9th May at Horwich CC .
Coaching
Committee :-
Richard Dearden confirmed that the Coaching Committee had now been formed
and meetings were being held . He handed out copies of the minutes of a recently
held Meeting.
The
Treasurer reported that 3 Clubs were still to pay their £100 Coaching Levy
-
Walkden CC , Farnworth SC and Astley Bridge CC
Child
Protection :-
John Hutchinson gave a brief report on Child Protection matters ,
confirming that Clubs were responsible for sorting out the relevant CRB checks ;
and that those people who held Clearance through Football must submit that
clearance to the ECB who would decide whether it would be deemed sufficient for
Cricket Clearance .
Any
Other Business :- The
North Wales Cricket League had requested an Under 15's Inter League match . It
was agreed this would be sanctioned provided the cost of Transport was covered
with no cost to the League .
In
the Under 11's Section , Horwich CC had requested the possibility of entering 2
teams
The
Minute Secretary confirmed that new Match Cards were in the process of being
printed however to save cost , address labels were distributed to all Clubs to
use on their current Cards .
The
next Meeting would be held on Thursday 20th May at
Astley Bridge CC ,
7-45pm .
