Junior’s Minutes of meeting held on Monday 18th April 2005 @ Astley Bridge C.C.

  1. Minutes of last meeting

The Minutes of the last meeting were approved as a correct record.

 

  1. Correspondence

A Letter was read out from Richard Dearden in regard to the nominations he has made to the LCB from Clubs, names were given of those boys nominated at each age group. Richard also requested that out nominations are done in September of the previous year, all clubs agreed.

 

  1. Treasurer’s Report

No report because Treasurer not in attendance.

 

  1. Child Protection

Mike Buckley gave a short report on clubs (Copy attached), and stated he would be taking any issues up with the Senior Committee. A number of representatives said that some of their CRB checks where coming back not done. MB asked for clubs to vet these CRB forms and if they felt the person involved is required to be CRB checked, to return it to the ECB stating that. Otherwise make sure the person involved fills in Self Declaration Form.

 

  1. Match Cards and Team Sheets

Match Cards for team U11’s to U18’s were given to every club including Teams Sheets that must be exchanged before the game commences. It is the HOME teams responsibility to send in the Match Card, offenders will be fined as per the League Rules.

  1. Results Procedure

A procedure was given to Clubs in regard to reporting in the Bolton Evening News (Copy Attached). Clubs were asked to give this to all their team managers.

 

  1. Interleague Update

Trails for U15’s where held at Bolton School and representatives were given letters for their players telling them whether they had been selected or not. U11, U13 and U18 had not yet been done.

 

  1. Fixtures W/K 24th April 2005.

A short discussion was held in regard to the postponement of fixtures and Mike Buckley stated that no decision could be made until the Senior Meeting on Thursday 20th April 2005.

Bolton Indians Cricket Nets

Bolton Indians had been in contact in regard to their new nets they are having built, asking clubs if they wanted to use them. The cost is £10 per hour per net (3 nets).  Please contact Bolton Indians.

 

Winter Programme.

John Roberts brought the issue of Winter Nets Programme and this subject was discussed briefly. It was decided that the facilities should be booked before the end of May at a central location. Also that one person should not organise all age groups. Richard Dearden will be contacted in regard to coaches and Summer Programme.

 

There being no other business the meeting closed at 9.05pm.

 

Date of the next meeting Thursday 19th May 2005 at Astley Bridge @ 7.45pm.

It is planned to publish the Bolton League Junior cricket results each week

in the Bolton Evening News, probably on a Tuesday. To ensure that your team is included the results should be forwarded immediately after the match to either option 1.  2.

Email or text to the mobile phone is preferred.

 

It is important that the following information is given clearly;

 

1. Age group   e.g. U 13s

2. Home side innings e.g. Heaton 73 for 5

    Smith 32 n.o.  Brown 15 for 3

 3. Away team innings e.g. Horwich 78 for 8

    Jones 24, Taylor 31 no.  Green 21 for 4

4. Result Horwich win by 5 runs

 

Later in the season it is planned to include League tables in the reports to

The Bolton Evening news.

 

Please note. Results will not be "chased up". If you do not submit your results or if they are not clearly understandable they will not be included.

 

We hope the reporting of results will increase the interest and awareness in League Junior cricket and I look forward to receiving the match results
