Report : After being asked to bat first, Greenmount made a tentative start to their innings due to a fine opening spell of bowling from Westhoughton's professional Mayers and Bhanabhai.  Nishet Shetty showed his raw talent, especially driving the ball down the ground to race to 40 runs before being dismissed with the total on 100 and 25 overs left to bat.  Greenmount struggled through the middle overs losing wickets at regular intervals.  The tail wagged with vital runs coming from the low order which eventually saw Greenmount posting a moderate total on what seemed a very good batting pitch.  All the Westhoughton bowlers were very accurate, maintaining discipline and focus throughout their fielding session.  As in all Hamer Cup Finals, Westhoughton also started their innings with caution.  With the loss of 3 wickets, Antonio Mayers walked to the crease.  The Westhoughton professional batted in a mature manner to steer his team to victory with a superb innings of 85 not out, ably supported by Mark Atherton who hit a valuable 29 runs.

WELL DONE WESTHOUGHTON!
